What is Light and Chromo Therapy?

Light and chromo therapy is a system of medicine over 2000 years old, used by ancient Chinese and Greek healers. Nowadays, it is scientifically proven that each colour has a biological and psychological effect on a living organism. Colour is energy; it has a vibration, a frequency and a specific therapeutic use associated with it.

Light and chromo therapy is a holistic therapy. It enables the practitioner to treat the person as a whole-mind, body, spirit and to restore health and well being. By introducing a specific colour as a vibrational energy, we can harmonize disorders within the body and improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Light therapy works at three different levels: At the level of ailment - when the pathogen agent from environment causes tissue damage. It can therefore be successfully used in traumatology, rheumatology and dermatology. Secondly, it acts at the eye level - each colour creating a specific physical and psychological effect. Finally, light and colours can be applied at acupuncture and reflexology points to restore balance and unblock energetic blockages.

Some medical conditions and the beneficial colours associated with them:

Abdominal cramps: yellow/lemon Headaches/migraines: blue/indigo Acne: blue/red
Appetite, excessive: indigo Arthritis: violet/red Asthma: blue/orange
Heart conditions: green/pink    

Healthy Holiday Truffles

1 cup

1 cup

2 cups

filberts OR sunflower seeds

walnuts OR pumpkin seeds

dried fruit

Soak all ingredients in water for 8 hours. Drain. Blend in food processor until smooth. Shape into balls or bars.

Roll balls or bars in carob powder, grated coconut or chopped nuts. Chill in fridge overnight or place in dehydrator for 8 hours.

Excellent source of protein, good fats, vitamins B, E, calcium, iron, zinc, manganese, and plant sterols. Makes a great healthy treat for the holiday season and fun to make for the whole family. Enjoy!
